Guy joined MG & Co as a trainee solicitor in September 2016. He is currently part of MG & Co’s civil team assisting in claims against the police, local authorities and supporting bereaved families at inquests.

Guy gained distinctions in the Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course at BPP University in 2015 and 2016 respectively. Previous to this he gained a distinction in Philosophy of Education MA at the Institute of Education, University of London in 2013, and graduated with honours in Politics and South East Asian Studies BA from the University of Leeds in 2010.

Guy draws on pro bono experience in criminal, immigration and employment law.

He was formally the Student Director of the BPP Criminal Appeals Project where he led a team to investigate potential miscarriages of justice. Guy has a strong interest in civil liberties, the right to protest and defending protestors from criminal charges and unlawful police action, he is an active legal observer at demonstrations.

Before beginning his training at MG & Co Guy volunteered supporting migrants with family and EEA applications. He qualified as an OISC level 1 Immigration Advisor in April 2016.

Guy is an active trade unionist and continues to support casework and give legal advice to trade union members, particularly supporting agency and precariously engaged workers.

Guy has previously worked in education as a primary school teaching assistant and as an organiser for environmental justice NGOs.
