Chez Cotton of Matthew Gold & Co, Michael Etienne of Garden Court and Dylan Morley, a freelance researcher/paralegal, discuss bringing a claim for damages for the parents of a patient receiving care at a mental health hospital, where abuse by staff was exposed in a Panorama undercover operation. The claim was settled pre-issue using the Human Rights Act, in circumstances where the common law of negligence appeared to offer no remedy.
