03 Oct Clare Jennings winner of the Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year Children’s Rights Award 2016

We are pleased to announce that Clare Jennings, Head of Public Law and Community Care at MG & Co. was winner in the Children’s Rights category at the 2016 Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year Awards.

Clare was recognised for her work representing migrant children facing destitution who are denied their rights under the Children Act. Clare’s nomination for the award was supported by a great number of her clients. One mother whose family had been at risk of homelessness said that…

“the way that Clare handled my case was the most amazing thing that ever happened in my life.”

Clare is very honoured to be recognised for her outstanding work in helping to secure the support so desperately needed by her many vulnerable clients. Congratulations also to the many other winners and finalists whose incredible commitment and invaluable work was also recognised and celebrated at last night’s LALYs. Many thanks also to Legal Aid Practitioners Group who founded the LALYs for an amazing ceremony which celebrated the commitment, hard and invaluable work of legal aid lawyers in securing access to justice for their clients and highlighted the importance of legal aid work.
