Gold Jennings recognised in Legal 500 for another year

Gold Jennings are delighted to be recognised for another year in the Legal 500 rankings. Legal 500 is widely recognised as the world’s largest legal referral guide. The 2022 rankings recognises that Gold Jennings “punches well above its weight in civil liberties and human rights matters, particularly in public law challenges.”

Ranked in Band 2 in Administrative and Public Law, our Public Law Department is recognised as “simply phenomenal,” gaining notoriety for its work representing claimants in a judicial review challenge to the use of Napier Barracks; representing claimants in a case concerning the mass seizure of asylum seekers’ mobile phones following small boat arrivals; and acting in a judicial review which led to a widening of the Secretary of State for Educations’ pupil premium scheme.

We are ranked in Band 4 for Civil Liberties and Human Rights, where we have been described as having carved out a niche representing disadvantaged and marginalised individuals and groups in connection with wrongs committed by the state.

Our Public Law department is led by the “dynamite solicitor” Clare Jennings, who is individually recognised as a “Next Generation Partner,” in the Legal 500 and whose “technical brilliance, strategic oversight and exceptional creativity” is singled out by clients.

Director Matthew Gold brings a “strategic, bold and passionate approach” to his role as the head of the civil actions against public authorities team.

The Legal 500 guide also recognises Gold Jennings solicitors Chez Cotton, Rachel Etheridge and Jessica Roome as “other key lawyers.
