Adjourned until 20th September 2016 – 10am, Before HMC Andrew Walker

Address: North London Coroner’s Court, 29 Wood Street, Barnet, EN5 4BE

James Fox was fatally shot by MPS officers at his home in Picardy House, Enfield shortly before midnight on 30 August 2015.  Two officers fired five shots between them.  James had a history of mental health concerns and died at the scene.

The inquest into his death began on Monday 15 August 2016 before HMC Andrew Walker and a jury at North London Coroner’s Court. The inquest has now been adjourned before reaching a verdict so that three of the police officers involved, including the two who fired the fatal shots, can be recalled to give further witness evidence in relation to their training following the late disclosure of relevant documentation. The same jury will also return to finish hearing the evidence. The inquest will resume at North London Coroner’s Court on Tuesday 20 September 2016 at 10am.

The family is represented by Harpreet Aujla of Matthew Gold Solicitors and Owen Greenhall of Garden Court Chambers and INQUEST is working with the family.
